Weekend from H-E-double hockey sticks!
So this was suppose to be a terrific three day weekend! But on Friday morning Cody woke up letting me know he was not feeling good. So he stayed in his pajamas all day and laid around. Passing it off as mild cold. By that evening he was running a temperature and a runny nose. So I kept giving him the recommended dosage of Children's cold medicine. About 1:30 in the morning I was awoken by Cody screaming. I rushed to the couch where he had been sleeping. A fever was causing him to hallucinate. He thought he was seeing scary men in the house! I could not get him to wake up. All the comotion had woken his dad up and the rest of the kids. He thought his dad was a bad guy so he kept hitting him and screaming for him to get away. So Kyle picked him up and threw him in the shower and ran the water. It did the trick and he woke up. That was sooo scary for me to have to watch Cody not being able to justify imagination from reality. After he woke up and we got him into dry clothes I held him on the couch while he just cried because he still had the feelings that it had been real. So over the next couple of hours his condition became better. His fever seemed to be getting better and the next morning he wanted to go out and play. But I made him stay inside. He seemed to be doing really well all day. Before he went to sleep though I gave him some children's tylenol to keep his fever down while he slept. But again in the middle of the night I was again woken up by Cody having another fever and attack of hallucinations. The scary men were back and they had taken Katelin. This time he wouldn't even let me touch him. So his dad again picked him up and threw him in the shower. It did the trick again. So this time we put in a movie and stayed up the rest of the night and watched it. I don't know when we fell asleep but i woke up about 5 with Cody screaming, This time it wasn't a hallucination it was a huge headache. So I ran to get the tylenol but I didn't even make it to the kitchen when his nose and mouth started just gushing out blood. Now I started to panic! What was going on with my child? So I threw him in the car and took off to the emergency room. I drove straight to the urgent care but they couldn't see him until 9 am. So I went to the store and bought out the entire shelf of child care medicine from vapor rub to peppermint tea. Took him home and administered to him myself. Everything seemed to work and by the afternoon he was feeling better. Kyle had gone to church and told his friends what Cody had been going through and they said their kids had had the sane thing this last week so they came over to see him. Sure enough he had the same symptoms of Influenza A. Last night I just stayed by his side. He only woke up once to ask for some water and tylenol. But every time he moved I got nervous for another round of hallucinations. He still has a fever this morning and a cough with a sore throat but I think he's going to be just fine. We are both just exhausted!

Oh my gosh, Mishelle! What a scary weekend! I don't know what I would have done if that would have been Cooper. I hope that Cody continues to get better and I hope that none of your other kids get it.
Holy cow! I guess a bad weekend! I hope Cody gets better. Love and miss ya!
Wow Mishelle! That sounds scary! Hope Code-manis doing better. Hugs and Kisses from Pasco.
You know, I can TOTALLY picture Kyle picking Cody up and throwing him in the shower:)
That is the scariest thing I have heard in a long time. I hope no one else gets it. Keep us informed. Let me know if you need any thing.
Quick thinking on Kyles part.
Oh, poor little man! Hope Cody gets to feeling better soon, and hope you can get some sleep! Let me know if there's anything I can do!
my goodness, that is rough, at first it sounded like night terrors, I am glad its an easier fix then having to grow out of them. Good luck and do keep us updated!
