2009 Christmas Tree

We chose to bring back the same theme as last year : " A Cowboy Christmas". Decorated with small minature cowboy hats, saddles, horseshoes and cowboy boots, rustic colored stars and balls, finished off with gollden lights and shimmering garland and topped with an authentic Cowboy Hat, our tree is definetly a seasonal symbol of the Noyes family!
To our friends and family may you be blessed with great happiness and love this Holiday Season as we remember the birth and life of our Savior and Redeemer Jesus Christ. Spread the love and charity that is in your hearts with those around you! Love to all, The Noyes family

You know there is going to be a change when...

You know there is going to be a change in church when you show up and the whole Stake Presidency is sitting in the stands. This week was a weird one already with the boys horse dying and Weston spraining his hand, but yesterday was the cake topper. It was so nerve racking you could hear a pin drop and everyone was sweating and hearts were pounding. President Baker made the announcement yesterday that they were splitting 1st ward and sending the chosen ones to 3rd ward! You would've thought he was asking all of us to pack up and move to Missouri. The tears were rolling and hearts were heavy. They took the good ones: Both Oneill's, The Tuckers, The Hursts, The Earl's, The Stevers, The Plates and a couple of the cool new families that just moved in. And he wasn't finished...to top it off he changed our bishopric. So I would just like to take a minute and dedicate a little note of appreciation to Bishop Tucker. You will be missed!!! When we first moved into this ward they released Bishop Poth and put in Bishop Tucker. Bishop Tucker has helped us through our process of getting adapted to our new surroundings. He has been awesome in helping us feel welcome and always had such good and inspirtational things to say to us to keep us hopeful and uplifted. So thankyou Bishop for 3 wonderful years! May you reign supreme in 3rd ward!!And Congratulations to our new Bishopric: Brother Ryan Tolley as Bishop; Brother Palmer as 1st couselor; and Brother Chuck Merrell as 2nd Counselor. Lead us home my good brothers.

The hobby of collecting miniature Christmas Village houses has become one of the things I have enjoyed most about the holidays. This Christmas I wish to add to my collection are these adorbale winter wonder wonderland buildings called Santas House and the Santas Sweet shoppe. Aren't they cute? So far I have a whole village which consists of a church, a barn, train station and a couple of houses that Kyle has given me. I think I just mainly love setting this tiny village up and turning on the tiny lights and something magical comes to life. If you want to see some really cute stuff go to http://thechristmasshop.8m.com it's amazing what they have created!

The Spunky five year old turns 6!

You know it's Katelin's birthday around here when we are eating frosting covered pancakes with sprinkles and whipped cream for breakfast!

Today Katelin is turning 6. It seems like yesterday we were just getting done digesting our Thanksgiving feast when we arrived at the hospital and welcomed our 6 lb 2 oz beautiful bouncing baby girl into the world. Now 6 years later Katelin is just as spunky as ever. I've knicked named her Punky Bruester. With a character all her own and a colorful wordrobe to match her personality, our family just wouldnt be the same without her. Happy Birthday my Sweet Katie! We love you with all of our hearts!!!

The Best Stuff on Earth Just Got Better

Being away from the Blog world for a while was sure lonely! It's crazy how life just gets away from you for a while. As you may all know my time at Great Links came to an end on October 11. I said good bye to five years of hard work and dedication. I am still running a few rentals from my home so that keeps me a little busy and doing a few Pampered Chef Cooking Shows here and there but other than that I am experiencing something I haven't experienced in a long time. I have become a stay at home mom. And I can honestly say I am busier now than I have ever been!! This past week I was running the miles on my Sewing Machine trying to finish the last minute details on our 2009 Halloween Family Theme: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Kyle of course was Willy Wonka and the only Oompa Loompas I could find that wanted to participate were Weston, Savannah and Me. Katelin was Wonder Woman and Cody was "Scary Pop Up Face" (?)

Night of excrutiating pain uncovers family secret.

So yesterday morning I went to pick Savannah up and I heard a pop in my lower back that brought me to my knees. Once I got up enough strength I stretched it out and went along with the rest of my day. I had no other choice...I had 4 check ins. So by the time I got home I was in the worst pain of my life. I would compare it to labor pains in the lower back. So Kyle lovingly fixed dinner and took care of the kids while I laid on the living room floor kicking myself for not going to the Chiro earlier. Kyle made me a nice bed on the floor where I would be spending the night. The kids thought that was the greatest thing ever. So we all had a slumber party in the living room. About 10:30 I was awoken by a bunch of noise. Weston was up walking around in his sleep talking and mumbling. Then I noticed Katelin was singing at the top of her lungs in her sleep and 5 seconds later Savannah was crying. I leaned over to console her and realized she wasn't crying she was yelling in her sleep! Oh my heaven's it lasted all night! If Weston wasn't up walking around he was laying there yelling at Cody or roping a cow in his sleep. Katelin never stopped either! At one time I swear they were having conversations with eachother...in their sleep!! Needless to say I didn't get much sleep but I did get I very good laugh! Oh and I got into the Chiropractor early this morning and got a well deserved Crackin' and Poppin Session. I can walk now!

Our Road trip to Utah

We left Moses Lake at 10:30 on the evening of July 29th and at 6:30 the next morning we arrived in Twin Falls Idaho to stop and get breakfast. The kids slept the whole way I was so thankful! It was such a fun trip! As soon as we arrived in Utah is was non-stop fun and excitement. We did a lot of shopping and eating that's for sure! On Thursday we went to Temple Square, Friday we spent all day at Lagoon Theme Park where I rode on all of the rides with the kids and Kyle and the boys rode all of the roller coasters. Our first ride was on the wild rapids where of course I was the one who got soaking wet! Saturday was the family reunion and that night we drove up to Roosevelt Utah for a yummy BBQ at Shaurie's house and then drove to Vernal to stay with Jarred and Annise. Vernal is the DinosaurFossil capital of the world and where they do alot of the countries oil drilling. That was an interesting little town! Smack dab in the middle of nowhere and it has a Temple and Walmart! Sunday Rylee brought his four-wheelers over so we spent all day riding around the hills. Monday was spent catching up on laundry and packing and then it was time to head home. We did a little bit more shopping on the way home and ran into a really crazy wind storm about twin falls area so we got to Boise and decided to spend the night. When we woke up we realized we were surrounded by more shopping so we went to the Super Cabellas store and the Dessert Book store. We finally got home at 5:30 on Tuesday night. Just in time to get a babysitter and run into the music store to get my guitar fixed and to Tsunami Sushi for Tyson's birthday! All in all it was a good trip. There were a lot of good times and we won't mention Kyle's speeding ticket in a construction zone!

A tribute to my brother

Yesterday was our 30th birthday! I know, I can't believe it either! So I took a moment and looked at all of my scrapbooks and realized there is no one greater I would have wanted to share my childhood with. People always ask me what's it like being a twin. And I like to tell them "Well you always have a best friend." And it's true. I rememeber hours and hours of games we would make up, going on adventures into the sagebrush, and as we got older it stayed that way if we were bored we would just find something to do together so childhood was never boring. But it got better as we grew up. Shortly after high school I went to college in Rexburg and he would make special trips up which meant a lot because I was really homesick! When he got his mission call my mom threw her life into high gear so I could be married before he left and he could be there. Kyle and I even snuck down to see him on his mission. There are so many memories of us together. I am really grateful for Michael. He is a strong valiant spirit! I believe we were best friends in Heaven and Heavenly Father just knew I couldn't make this trip alone. So he let Michael come with me. He has been there through so much of my life the good and the bad. Even though we couldn't be together for our birthday celebration I just want him to know there is no one I would want to celebrate it with more than him. Love you Mikey!! Happy Birthday!

Savannah Turns Two!

I can not believe my baby turned Two on Friday! It seems like she was just born. Anyway, we had a small gathering of friends and family to celebrate the occasion. The theme was Strawberry shortcake. I picked this theme because I came across this amazing cake that I wanted to make her and it turned out so cute! It was Kyle's Dads birthday too and Shana lovingly volunteered to make him a cute cow cake you can kind of see in picture #4. I'm hoping Shana posts a better picture because it was sooo cute!

Going short for the summer

Well for the summer I decided I should chop off my hair. So Katelin and I stopped off at the HAIR. Salon and told them we wanted the same hair cut. I love it being short but because of the comment I have been getting that I look like Kate (from John and Kate + 8) I think I will grow it out to a longer length.

Binky Winky Doodle Bopp was found! (Story continued from below)

Okay everyone can stop worrying! The missing calf has been found! Thanks to my cowboy Cody, it is now home safe and sound! Yesterday afternoon I got a call from Cody. He invited over a friend to help find the lost calf. It took them 8 hours but finally found it laying in the shade of an old aspen tree. What a sight! I met up with him at the tree. He had roped the little guy and was holding on for dear life! I rushed home and made it a bottle took it back to the calf and coaxed it back home with the warm milk. We had to load it into the back of the car and Cody and his friend held it so it would jump around. Good thing it was only 1/8 of a mile away from our house. When we got it out of the car Cody had to hog tie it and him and I lifted it up and into the calf pen. Something I am grateful for Kyle for. He makes it look easy! All he does is lift them without a sweat and puts them in their pen. It took Cody and I every muscle we had to lift the darn thing into it's pen. We awarded our selves with ice cream from Barb and Ann's!

Of all things to blog about...

So Kyle arrived home last night pulling a trailer behind him. I thought "Oh goodness, what does he have now". He melted my heart when he came out carrying a baby calf. It is a precious sight to see a grown man snuggling a 1 day old calf in his arms. But then he pulled out another and another. Yep 10 baby calves , at our house! Six of them are only a day old. And of course the kids all named them poor pitful names like Button Butt and Whisker Noodle Brain. The boys went to bed with smiles a mile wide on their faces thinking of how we have started to grow our little farm they have been dreaming about for quite some time now. BUT....this morning I arose this morning to make Kyle breakfast while he went out and bottle fed each calf. When I went out to tell him breakfast was ready he was handed me the bottle and told me to finish feeding the last one while he went to catch one that had gotten out. Kyle went to go grab it and the little burger took off! Kyle chased it around the yard until it ran into the neighboring pasture. So I put down the bottle and we both jumped in the Suburban and went chasing after it. We couldn't catch it...can you believe it is only a day old and faster than two adults! We went and woke up the kids and they jumped on their bikes with their ropes. We couldn't find it. It is now 10 am and we still can't find it. The boys and I have walked a good 4 square miles looking everywhere and it has just vanished! The darn PITTBULL probably got it! Anyway, so now our happy little farm is minus one calf. His name is Winky Binky Doodle Bop (Katelin's obviously) so if you see him let us know!

The Garden

Last week we broke ground on the family garden. Lots of thanks to my dad and his "Tractor Plow" and the Merrell's for coming out in the wind and the rain to help us plant our huge abundance of carrots, onions, cucumbers, peas, green beans and much much more. Let the weeding begin!

15 hours in the wilderness

Friday we went with a couple of families from our ward to venture into the potholes for a quick night of camping. It turned out to be a really fun 15 hours! Our friends, The Merril's and Kelly Hellewell and all of their kids, camped by Sarah lake. It was beautiful! Chuck Merrill broke out the dutch oven and cooked a yummy dinner of Creamed chicken and scalloped potatoes. Then we had smores. Chuck entertained us with a bedtime story then it was off to bed. The girls and I stayed in the Suburban and the boys stayed in the tent. Savannah did not like camping in the car at all! She wanted her bed. So it was a loooooong night! And cold! But it was all forgotten when we woke up and had a pancake and bacon breakfast by the beautiful lake! It was great fun! Here are some pics:

Spotlight On My Mom

There is no woman more beautiful or lovely as my Mother. Growing up in a house full of boys wasn't easy for us women! But somehow she taught me to be the Young Lady I am today. Kyle laughs and teases me all of the time because I can't change a tire and I can't drive a stick shift car. He says "Are you sure you are Ed Olson's daughter?" It's understandable, being raised around demo races, tractors and boys, boys boys I should have picked up some boy traits somewhere, but thaks to my wonderful mother I grew into a respectable young woman. I spent more of my time with my mom. While my dad took the boys on hunting trips my mom and I were at home painting our nails or doing eachothers hair. I loved when the boys would go out of town on camping trips because that meant my mom and I would get to go out to dinner or on shopping trips. just the two of us. There are so many memories with my mom that are etched into my heart but one that always sticks out is the time she taught me to pray. I was a Senior in highschool and was involved in so much stuff that I was stressed out and having a nervous break down. My mom sensed something was wrong and pulled me into her room to talk. I told her how overwhelmed I was and I didn't know if I could handle it anymore. She said "I think we should pray to Heavenly Father." So we knealt down by her bed and she said the most beautiful prayer to help me in that time in my life." I'll never forget the feeling of knowing that my mom was always going to be there for me. And she has. So thank you mom! Thank you for staying awake for three months straight when Michael and I were born and both had colic! Thank you mom for being my hairdresser for all of my highschool dances, thank you for being my seamstress for all of my costumes, thank you for being my nurse when I got hit by that pickup got Scarlatina and when Missy and I wrecked the dirt bike and looked like Ragedy Anne Dolls, thank you for being my biggest fan during my Jr.Miss days (especially bulding the awesome float!), thanks for being my 24 hour hotline for all of my "mommy" questions, and most of all thank you for being my friend. You are truly my biggest blessing in my life and I wish with all of my heart I will be just like you some day! With all of my love Happy Mother's Day!
